Adoption Guidelines

  1. All adopters must complete our Adoption Application (found to the right—>).

  2. All adopters must be at least 21 years of age.

  3. If any animal in your household is not spayed or neutered, we are happy to refer you to the veterinarians in our local area so that you may have your pet altered prior to adopting.

  4. All household members must be present prior to the finalization of an adoption.

  5. All other animals in your household must be up to date with their vaccinations.

  6. If you are interested in adopting a dog and you already have a dog(s) in your household, we will arrange a canine meet-and-greet prior to finalizing the adoption. Please bring your current dogs’ rabies certificate.

  7. We will need to verify home ownership. If you rent, we will need a copy of your lease stating that your landlord permits you to have pets along with your landlord’s signature and contact information.

  8. We do not place animals as gifts for others

FFOA MAKES SURE THE FOLLOWING CARE GOES INTO ALL FFOA ANIMALS THAT ARE READY FOR ADOPTION:

  • Spay/Neuter, Microchipped, 2 Distemper Shots, Deworming Treatment, Flea/Tick Treatment, Rabies Vaccine, and Bordetella Vaccine

  • All cats are also tested for: Feline Leukemia and FIV

You will be required to fill out an adoption questionnaire and be approved before adoption can take place. Once you complete the application, your adoption application will be reviewed and this may take up to 3 business days. This is for the safety of our animals! To speed up the adoption process, please email or bring vet records concerning the care of your other pets. Checks will not be accepted for adoptions – cash or money orders only.

DOGS

  • $325.00- Under 6 Months

  • $300.00- 6 Months - 6 Years

  • $175.00- Senior Animals (7 Years +)

  • $25.00 - Seniors for Seniors

  • $100.00- Living at the shelter 1 year or More

CATS

  • $125.00- Under 6 Months

  • $100.00- 6 Months - 6 Years

  • $50.00- Senior Animals (7 Years +)

  • $25.00- Seniors for Seniors

  • $50.00- Living at the shelter 1 year or More

***PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE A SENIORS FOR SENIORS PROGRAM***

Seniors (age 65 or older) have the opportunity to adopt one of the FFOA senior animals (7 years +) for an adoption fee of: $25.00.
