"You want how much for that animal?  In the paper, they're free!"

First-time visitors to our shelter are often surprised that we currently charge an $100 adoption fee for large adult dogs, a $120 fee for puppies and small dogs, a $70 fee for kittens, and a $60 fee for adult cats when so many animals are listed "free to a good home" in the papers.  However, we put a lot into the excellent care of our animals - veterinary care alone per animal runs in the $225 - $300 range.

The adoption fee for dogs and puppies include spaying/neutering, microchipping, 1 dose of dewormer and vaccinations. The adoption fee for all felines include spaying/neutering, leukemia testing, 1 dose of dewormer, and vaccinations.
